Coach Carter grew up in Lawrenceville, Ga., and graduated from Brookwood High School in 1993, where he ran cross-country and track for 4 years.  Coach Carter then attended the University of Georgia, where he also ran cross-country and track and graduated with a B.S. in Psychology in 1998.
He is married to his beautiful wife Liz who graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Journalism/Advertising.

Coach Shuster attended college at Michigan State University.  She is an avid runner who has completed several marathons and recently qualified for the Boston Marathon.
